THE SOCIAL CONCERNS COMMISSION ministry is to plan and carry out our outreach to both our Parish family and surrounding communities. Thanksgiving food baskets are prepared and distributed to our shut-ins and the needy by our members. They participate in the feeding program at our local Salvation Army shelter, assist in the delivery of Christmas and Easter flowers to our homebound parishioners and they stay in touch with our ill and homebound parishioners on a regular basis with visits, phone calls and cards, just to name a few of our activities. All this is done in the name of Christ, who commands us to minister to the least of our brethren. If interested in taking part in this ministry contact: Betty Crews (732.442.3662).

Announcing a Reprinting of

THE HISTORY OF ST. PETER'S CHURCH
By the Rev. W. Northey Jones (former rector of St. Peter's)
This major history of our parish was published in 1924 and has long been out of print. IF you could locate a copy through a used/rare book dealer, you would have to pay $300 to $400 to own it. (Not exaggerating!) It covers our history from 1698 through 1923 and contains fascinating and detailed accounts of the long life of this historic parish.
The reprinting will be in paperback and will cover the first part of this work (approx. 150 pages). The remainder of the book is an extensive genealogy and will not be included. The cost of printing depends in part on the number of copies ordered. Therefore we need to assess the interest of our members. It is anticipated that the cost of a single copy will be $35. The book will not be available until sometime in the fall....but in time for Christmas.
To reserve a copy, please complete the form below and send a $10 deposit for each copy wanted. Make you check payable to St. Peter's Episcopal Church and write History Reprint on the memo line. Send this to the parish house by mail or put a separate envelope in the collection basket. Please keep all deposits separate from your regular weekly/monthly donation. Questions? Addition information? Call Ellen Nemeth (732-636-0986) ------------------------------------------------------- Name_________________________________________
